Methode der finiten Elemente, i. d. R. auf Verschiebungsgrößenverfahren aufbauende Methode unter Verwendung von Näherungsansätzen für den Verlauf der Verschiebungsgrößen längs des finiten Elements; Unbekannte sind demzufolge Verschiebungsgrößen; das Gleichgewicht wird näherungsweise (integral) erfüllt; FEM auf Stab-, Flächen- und Raumtragwerke anwendbar.
